The building industry is concerned with the provision, maintenance and renewal of Ireland’s building assets. Any new building, be it for residential, industrial, commercial, educational, medical or other purposes, must be designed, constructed, maintained, operated and removed in a sustainable way. This is done to ensure that the visual appearance, structure, thermal, visual, aural and space conditions of the building are in keeping with its purpose, while ensuring the ease of movement and health and safety of its occupants.
